Mr Amer is a consultant general and abdominal transplant surgeon based at the Freeman Hospital within Newcastle Hospitals. His private practice is at Spire Washington Hospital, where he sees patients with abdominal wall hernias, gallbladder disease and benign hepatobiliary conditions.
His specialist interests include minimally invasive hernia and gallbladder surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction and enhanced recovery pathways after surgery. He is also clinical lead for organ utilisation and donation surgery in Newcastle.
